Our new paper entitled "Oscillatory redox behavior in oxides: Cyclic surface reconstruction and reactivity modulation via the Mars–van Krevelen mechanism" is on-line in PNAS. This study visualizes a tranditional Mars–van Krevelen (MvK) mechanism proposed about 70 years ago. Our results refine the understanding of how surface–bulk interactions shape reactivity, with broad implications for catalysis and materials design.
